Honeyberries & Haskaps


The "Haskap" designation indicates that the variety has completed standardization trials performed by the University of Saskatchewan, for fruit quality and quantity, tested in the coastal regions of Japan.

We will be trialing the Honeyberries versus the Haskaps for performance in our West Coast climate.




Haskap Lonicera edulis kamtschatica 'Cinderella'

Native to east Siberia and Canada, this edible member of the honeysuckle family has been greatly improved. Large, turquoise, tasty berries ripen in mid-June. Very hardy. No pest or disease problems. Great for fresh eating. More than one variety is a must for cross-pollination.

Honeyberry Lonicera caerulea var. edulis Blue Forest™ (Honeyberry)

Large, deep green foliage, spreading form, and large, dark blue, tasty fruit distinguish this attractive variety. Blue Forest™ grows to about 3 ft. in height and is a reliable producer of abundant crops in the Maritime Northwest and other regions of the US and Canada.

Honeyberry Lonicera edulis 'Blue Moon'

Very attractive, compact and spreading shrub. 'Blue Moon' has soft, velvety dark green, velvety foliage and bears good crops of large, tasty, dark blue fruit. Bears heavy crops of large, light blue berries. Late blooming.

Honeyberry Lonicera edulis 'Blue Pacific'

From the Russian Far East, this special variety has an attractive spreading form, light green foliage, and bears good crops of large, dark blue, tasty berries. Later blooming than most, it is a reliable producer west of the Cascades and in other regions of North America. Blue Pacific grows to about 3 ft. in height.

Honeyberry Lonicera edulis 'Blue Velvet™'

A unique Honeyberry variety, 'Blue Velvet' is distinguished by its attractive, grayish-green, velvety foliage and its very large, sweet-tart and flavorful, medium-blue berries. A compact spreading shrub, 'Blue Velvet' grows 3-4 ft. in height and 4 ft. wide. Grows well in cold regions, it is also a particularly good choice for Maritime Northwest gardeners.
